An Interesting Post From An IMDB User & My Feelings Regarding It.

I was once again visiting the IMDB on the Chapter 27 page and there was an interesting post from an IMDB user on the message board that is on that particular page from that movie.Apparently, her post does indeed hit it right on the money about how we on this board feel about John Lennon and also how we on this board feel about his murderer.Below is that person's post and my feelings regarding what she posted:

I apologize for the mere mentioning of his name but I feel that I should share it word for word to bring you the ultimate in authenticity.

Close This Chapter

"The last thing that we need is for Chapman to receive any more 'celebrity staus' for his murder of John Lennon. Yes, he's mentally ill and is most likely criminally insane- and should never see the light of day. We should just go back to remembering John Lennon and his legacy and keep Chapman in his forgettable status."

Below is what I expressed regarding it:

"Regarding what you said above about closing this chapter,I have only one thing to say:

''YOU REALLY ROCK!''

Your sentiments are my sentiments exactly and I wish people would forget about that guy and preserve the memory and legacy of a man who definitely was "One Of The Greatest Men Who Ever Lived" who is still loved and remembered by man in the world to this very day.Again,we need to preserve the as well as remember the memory and legacy of John Lennon and forget about the man who murdered him.THAT MAN does not deserve any fame or notoriety. He did what he did and we should forget about only him and keep remembering John Lennon.

However,I do disagree with your sentiments regarding the murderers state of mind.I do not think that the murderer was mentally ill or criminally insane.I think that he was legally sane at the time he murdered Lennon. In fact,he came to New York with the intention of murdering Lennon a year before he actually did it but changed his mind. Here's why I feel that he was legally same at the time he murdered Lennon:

1)He did travel to New York a year prior to the actual murder with the intent to kill John Lennon, but changed his mind.

2)He waited almost all day at the Dakota for Lennon to show up.While waiting,he talked to passers-by and even greeted John & Yoko's son Sean, who was 5 years old at the time, while he and his nanny were walking together and not only shook his little hand but also had the nerve to pat Sean on the head.

3)He simply called out "Mr.Lennon" when he saw him and immediately started shooting at 10:50p.m. on December 8th 1980.

4)He even watched John Lennon die in front of the Dakota proudly and did not make any attempt to flee.

5)When the Dakota doorman approached him and asked "Do You Realize What You Just Did?" He answered "Yes,I Just Shot John Lennon." without any apparent emotion.

6)He just sat there reading a book while Yoko Ono cried in pain and begged for John to stay alive while help was arriving. He did not even budge.

7)He never even bothered to ask if John Lennon was okay nor was he concerned when the news reported that he was dead.

8)At his arraignment,he declined psychiatric evaluations of any kind and simply pleaded GUILTY to the crime and willfully admitted what he did after his plea.Again,he showed no remorse nor any apparent emotion. He just simply said everything with a cold hearted attitude.

Hopefully,this proves my point.If not,then "Oh Well. I Tried."

But again,I do agree that we should preserve and remember the legacy and memory of John Lennon and let his murderer fade from public memory.

I just hope that he dies soon. That way,we can all breathe a sigh of relief and say to ourselves "John Lennon Can Finally Rest In Peace. His Murderer Is Finally Dead."

Thanks for posting"

I just wanted to share this. I am glad that we are not alone in our feelings for this worthless excuse for a movie, which I hope is forgotten pretty soon.

Thanks again Howard for your posts.

Give me some help here. I landed here via a google alert that I have for "yoko ono". Who's at fault here besides MDC(you know who at Attica)? and why?
About you-know-who: isn't there supposed to be something between one's ears that screams "God help me" as you lay your face in the dirt realizing that there is something terribly wrong with having any amount of thoughts of murdering John? If I were him and ever had anything again that resembled a sane mind I would have to lay down and die realizing what a terrible thing I had done. Thinking that he should or could ever be a free man and be anything but dead in free society is a sure sign of continued insanity. -JL(cukoobajube@hotmail.com)

However...the question keeps haunting enough that I feel compelled to ask it.
In light of Yoko's full page ad and what it sais,
should we consider the price we pay for hate and consider the teaching of Christ and consider that we all sufer and are not well
untill we are willing to forgive?

Anyone who runs a radio station is welcome to include this 90 minute talk show in their programming.

------------------
The Astucia Report: John Lennon's Security on the Night he was Murdered

Hosted by Salvador Astucia

Tue. February 6, 2007:

90 minutes

To listen to program, go to

http://www.jfkmontreal.com

and click "Astucia Report" in the upper left corner.

Synopsis of Show:

Salvador Astucia talks, via telephone, with the communications director of Manhattan real estate management firm, Brown, Harris and Stevens, the company that managed the Dakota condominium complex where John Lennon lived and was murdered on Dec. 8, 1980. Astucia also calls and speaks with a vice-president of the Wackenhut Corporation because he suspects Lennon's true killer, Jose Joaquin Sanjenis Perdomo, was placed by Wackenhut as a security guard (or doorman) at the Dakota. Astucia asks the following questions to officials at Brown, Harris and Stevens and Wackenhut:

- Describe the nature of any business dealings between Wackenhut and Brown, Harris and Stevens, particularly those that may have occurred in December 1980(?)

- Provide all you know about the security guard/doorman on duty at the Dakota condominium complex when John Lennon was murdered? (Dec. 8, 1980 at 10:50 pm)

- How does Wackenhut respond to the allegation (made by many people) that the firm is responsible for the murder of union activist and nuclear plant whistleblower Karen Silkwood?

- What was the nature of Wackenhut's business relationship with the late William Casey, former CIA director during the Reagan administration?

At the close of the show, Astucia explains how he determined that Jose Joaquin Sanjenis Perdomo was Lennon's true killer. Astucia also evokes the 1966 landmark Supreme Court decision of Miranda vs. Arizona which addressed the problem of police using coercion to extract false confessions from suspects. Astucia compares Mark David Chapman to other people who gave false confessions, like John Mark Karr, the man who recently confessed to the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, but prosecutors declined to prosecute Karr because his explanation of the crime did not match known details of the case. Astucia also cites the case of the Central Park Jogger, where four teenage boys confessed to raping and severely beating a 28-year-old Caucasian female investment banker jogging in Manhattan's Central Park, in 1989, only to have the true rapist confess years later. (Five boys were convicted of the crime, but only one denied any involvement.) Astucia notes the irony of the Central Park Jogger case because it was botched by the NYPD and Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau, the same people who sent Chapman to prison for killing Lennon.

That sounds like pure rubbish. To beleive a theory like that, one would have to believe that either the NYPD involved in the case are idiots or were involved in a cover-up.
